My Typing Skills & Experience

Transcription Definitions
Intelligent Verbatim
- As you hear it, but without ums and ahs and sentence stutters.
- Correct punctuation and paragraphing formats where appropriate.
- Speaker indicators. Time indicators (if requested).
- Inaudibles marked with (?) a time index and/or yellow highlighting.
- Breaks in sentences or trains of thought indicated with commas or em dashes.
- Hesitations indicated with ellipses (...).
- Nuisance phrases can also be eliminated (eg: you know, like, kind of, I mean).
Edited Verbatim
- Comments restructured into proper sentences
- Speaker indicators. Time indicators (if requested).
- Inaudibles marked with (?) a time index and/or yellow highlighting.
- Breaks in sentences or trains of thought indicated with commas or em dashes.
- Hesitations indicated with ellipses (...).

Transcription Rates
$1.25 per recorded minute
Summary notes, intelligent verbatim and edited verbatim of a single voice or one-on-one interview (mostly two people speaking; good sound quality)
$1.75 per recorded minute
Three to five speakers (interview or guided round table kind of setting)
$2.50 per recorded minute
Free-style round-table discussions or meetings, or recordings with more than five voices speaking.
$2 per page

I would return the transcripts to you either directly via email, or via Hightail, Dropbox or Google Drive.
Accepted Methods of Payment
I accept PayPal from anywhere in the world. The prices indicated are in Canadian dollars, but most of my clients outside of Canada are charged in USD.
Canadian clients, I will also accept a money order or eTransfer, if your bank allows it.
American clients, I will accept an "International" money order.
File Storage Disclaimer
Unless otherwise instructed, I will maintain the current transcript file for up to six months, or longer, in the event that something happens to your version of the file, or back files are needed for any other purpose.
